Mosaic is a continuous peace education process. It involves Chapter and local community members of all ages who want to nurture the CISV philosophy within their local community and personal lives. Local Chapters organize activities promoting cross-cultural understanding and peace education that draw upon local cultures, resources, and members. Networking with other organizations with common goals strengthens the Mosaic program.
Chapters in the United States have explored a variety of Mosaic projects: training in conflict resolution, holding educational workshops on local and world issues, planting peace groves, performing puppet shows addressing racial prejudice, and celebrating diversity with international residents and visitors. A growing number of Chapters sponsor local multi-cultural villages, bringing together children and their families who represent the many cultural groups within their own communities.
Mosaic is unique in its potential to reach the greatest number of people. By linking with local communities, Mosaic helps realize CISV's vision of peace at home and around the world.
